When you’re working on joining a team, you have to stay professional. Whether is is little league or a school team, you must remember to maintain politeness when meeting your teammates and coach. This will allow them to see that you’re mature which is always a good thing.
When you pitch a ball, you must figure out how to throw and hold it properly. To begin, place your middle finger on the seam. Next, put your thumb onto the opposite seam. This will help you grip the ball properly, allowing you to maximize your speed, distance and accuracy.
Do your best to hustle for your team. This mentality can rub off on the team. That’s the kind of leader in the club house that changes the game. Become a difference maker and watch your team win.
If you are a coach, be consistent with your scheduling and routine. Generally speaking, a good baseball practice should consist of a ten minute warm-up followed by twenty minutes of team and individual hitting drills. Once that is completed you can expect running and other team drills. Once that is complete additional drills with each position should finish up the practice. Hold a team meeting that is short, then you are done.
When you are running the bases, don’t ignore your coaches’ signals. Keep in mind that the coach has a view of the entire play. When you’re running the bases, your focus should be on them, not the ball. Your coaches can help you see. When they indicate you should stop, do so at the base closest to you.
